Feels like home Whitlam is a growing neighbourhood, with approximately 2,100 homes offering residents a chance to enjoy easy access to the city centre while being on the doorstep to stunning natural surroundings.
As part of the four-stage release, there are block sizes for all sorts of homes and budgets and the whole suburb has been designed to maximise passive solar and minimise energy consumption.
A thriving community Schools and hospital locations Whitlam is ideally located to give diverse residents access to what they need. Calvary Hospital is just 4kms away while a future primary school will be built in Whitlam, with the closest secondary schools being Belconnen High and Hawker College.
Nearby Evelyn Scott School’s junior site opened in 2021, offering access to 88 preschool and 600 primary school students – providing quality public education in the Molonglo Valley. Meanwhile, Stage 2 of the school’s construction will provide high school accommodation for an additional 600 year 7-10 students.
Other facilities There are plans for a local centre in Whitlam and there are also several playgrounds, with the main playground boasting incredible views of the Brindabella Ranges from its spot at the hilltop in central Whitlam.

Mingle, our community engagement program Whitlam Mingle Our incredible Mingle team have been working hard in Whitlam to build connections and leaders across the community.
Whitlam Mingle began in May 2021 and will be active in the community for approximately five years. In that time, community members are supported by Mingle to identify and work together on matters which are important to them. As someone who lives in Whitlam you can contribute, shape and drive ideas. This includes projects and initiatives to build a strong, sustainable and connected neighbourhood.
Mingle will help community members with identified ideas and work with them to:
Create a safe place through information sessions and a local neighbourhood watch group Create fun places for kids through playgroups and activities for teens Create a sustainable community with environmental groups and communal gardens Create an active community with dog walks and local walking and cycling groups.

Noticeboard As part of our work in creating a Mingle community, we set a noticeboard for residents. It is used to display information about events and other things happening in the suburb.
If people from the community have public message they want posted, they just need to contact our friendly team at [email protected] . They may even be able to help with printing. Just be aware that business or personal advertisements can't be displayed.
Eventually the noticeboard will belongs to the community. It will be available for all residents to use, for promotion of local activities, events, notices and small businesses.
